Keaton Conrad is a recording artist from Kansas City. Defined by the vibrant colors, memorable melodies, and potent lyrics he creates, his primarily indie rock sound stands out. Conrad frequently weaves old-school influences of the 1970s and ‘80s into more innovative ideas, creating a fresh, yet comfortable sound in the same vein as U2, Bon Iver, and Alabama Shakes. He has received abundant praise from the press, being regarded as “exceptionally promising” (The Kansas City Star) and “making things happen on stages … with an engaging voice and passion for creating good music” (Ink Magazine).
In 2015, Keaton Conrad burst onto the music scene with his debut EP, Panic & Blame, which contained five original songs that were heavily inspired by the pop rock sound he grew up on. His first full-length album, Waves, followed in January 2017. Immediate attention was given to the first single “Biscayne,” which made its way to #24 in 90.9 The Bridge’s Top 100 Songs of 2017. Ranging in style from pop rock to hip-hop to ambient, Waves was innately diverse, while also saturated with even more inspiration, emotion, and personality than Conrad’s previous works.
Nova, Keaton Conrad’s newest album, was released on February 1st, 2019. A concept album, this LP tells a year-long story of comfort and a self-discovery that manifested itself in the form of personal nova. Nova features 13 original songs inspired by Conrad’s personal growth, forming a powerful narrative.
